Giorgio Armani Power Fabric Foundation Review

Gurrrrrl! I have spent years looking for a foundation that would help my greasy ass face look less like an oil slick and more like beautiful soft velvet! I either am a grease pool within two hours, or my skin is just literally flaking off, oddly in the greasy parts.

Anyway, this foundation came out in February of 2017 (I think). It promises to be medium to full coverage, but also promised to help mattify my face! I decided to suck it up and pay more for a foundation than I ever have. To be fair, my go to before was Bobbi Brown which isn’t much cheaper, but it’s still cheaper than this. This foundation is $64USD for 1oz. and can be bought at a plethora of beauty stores.

Here is what the product promises:

This foundation melts into the skin, blurring imperfections while offering daily UVA and UVB broad spectrum SPF 25. Through Armani Beauty’s own Micro-fil Technology, powerful ultra-fine pigments are shaped to provide the highest coverage foundation with the thinnest and lightest texture—allowing a little to go a long way. This foundation combines high coverage, an SPF 25 filter, and an ultra-light formula to achieve flawless results up for up to 16 hours. Because every woman is unique, this foundation features an array of 20 shades to suit all skin tones. It’s adapted for each shade to deliver optimal coverage without cracking or dulling.

I like the fact that it is SPF 25 to help protect my skin and I’ll tell you, it is extremely lightweight to me (compared to BB or the Armani Luminous Silk foundation). I have to say…This stuff really works. It doesn’t settle into my lines, it feels super soft on my skin, it stays matte for about 5 hours on me , which is longer than any other foundation. I’m going to try a setting spray over it next time and see if that helps too. It’s super buildable too! So far, this is my new go to. I wear it in shade 3.5 which I think is a light neutral. I absolutely adore this stuff….Will it make me go spend tons of money on other Armani Beauty products, no…probably not. Foundation wise though, I haven’t been able to find anything quite like it in high or low end form. It’s a keeper, if you struggle like I do with oily skin and patches that foundation tends to stick to, give this a try. I do use a facial primer under this, it’s usually Guerlain L’or , Benefit POREfessional or Becca Ever Matte. You should use a primer that matches the formula and in this case it is silicone based. /I apply this using either my Bobbi Brown foundation brush or a beauty blender, I find they both work equally well. I also use a setting powder over this, sometimes I use the Rimmel stay Matte and sometimes I use Laura Mercier loose setting powder. I find the Rimmel looks better with this.

If you have struggled to find something that would look matte, and you have the extra cash laying around, I highly recommend this. While it’s not perfect, it’s the best yet that I’ve found. I give it an A-.
