One of the main reasons I started this blog is because I get questioned a lot about the products I use, or even as of late, how I built my new vanity.
I kept seeing different itterations popping up of the famous Alex and Malm vanity from IKEA. Basically that vanity consists of two of the Alex drawer sets (at $80 bucks a piece) or the Malm desk, Plus a tabletop from their Linnmon line, and of course a mirror, lights, chair, etc.
While I’m not the cheapest person in the world, I couldn’t stand the thought of spending a few hundred dollars on a vanity, so I looked up lots of tips/tricks online and came up with one that works really well for me. I’ve had a lot of people ask how I put it together, so here you go!
Tabletop purchased from ClosetMaid.com $30
Drawers purchased from Michaels (make sure you get these on sale or get a coupon) $35×2
Mirror purchased from lowes.com $23
Remote Controlled Lighting from Amazon.com $18
***Side note about this lighting, I would choose a different brand as these are finicky and will likely need replaced, see my review.
L Connectors for lighting $8
I used the stool I already had from an old vanity and, voila!!
